Knowledge, Discernment, and Abounding Love!

jackie11Thank you for your faithful prayers for Women in the Window International!  In recent weeks we traveled and served with our ministry partners in “the window,” and also met to strategize, pray, and collaborate with dozens of global ministries working to spread the Good News among the least reached and least served.  With great joy I bring you a firsthand praise report that our God is actively working to draw all peoples, nations, tongues, and tribes to Himself!

Here are some comments from our ministry partners regarding our recent West African trainings:

We welcomed 45 women from 3 nations to our Women in the Window training. During the Women in the Window Inductive Bible study training, they were trained to know the problems of the women they serve. We must identify the problem, whether spiritual or physical. We assess the need of their people before we know how to handle it.  Sometimes, they are the cause of their own problem, but you need not condemn them but rather help them to know that they are their own problem and help them learn to solve it.  Before you can know their problem you have to interact with them, ask them of their needs, study the Word of God with them, and pray with them. With that, they can see you as part of them and open up to you.

We are deeply honored to serve our LORD with women such as these, who gain insight from our trainings and multiply the results within days after the training is completed.  Our micro-enterprise and community development training also yielded great results with several of the African women leaders participating as trainers for the first time! Many thanks to Jackie Hilliard (pictured above), who oversees our economic development capacity-building team, for facilitating this training.  Her heart for Christ and women in need is heartily expressed through the kind of love defined in this prayer from Philippians 1:9-11:

“And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.”

Yes, knowledge and discernment are essential to accomplishing the work of the LORD in times like these, but most of all abounding love will purify our hearts so that we are sincere, blameless, and filled with the fruit of righteousness.

For the next five days, our leadership team will be meeting to seek God’s face and establish our next steps together as a ministry to, for, and with women in the hard places, seeking to replace their poverty and injustice with dignity and purpose in Christ! Please pray that through Women in the Window International, He will receive the glory and praise due His name, and that we will be blameless and sincere in His service.  And please let us know how we can pray for YOU…as we will have a special time of prayer for all of our supporters on June 18th!

Yours because I’m His,
Kim
