August Update

“Then I looked again at all the acts of oppression which were being done under the sun. And behold, I saw the tears of the oppressed and that they had no one to comfort them; and on the side of their oppressors was power, but they had no one to comfort them.” Ecclesiastes 4:1

Oppression, especially the horrific subjugation of women and girls, is not new. In fact, these ancient words found in Ecclesiastes 4:1 (see above), penned by King Solomon thousands of years ago, bring a haunting reminder that their tear-stained faces have been with us for millennia.

Yet, with the coming of our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ, and His gift of the Holy Spirit, also known as the Comforter, this script has been flipped.

“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever.” John 14:16 Amplified Bible

All things are made new in Christ and we can become the very ones who offer His comfort with both words and deeds. It is for this very purpose that Women in the Window International was begun and that it continues. And continue we will with your faithful and generous support through prayers, volunteer hours and donations. Contact us to find out more about how you can help today!

As you visit our website to learn more and meditate on the words of Ecclesiastes 4:1, look again into the eyes of the woman in a burqa pictured above and ask God what would He have you to do.
