Ramadan: Prayer Focus for Friday, July 17
The holiday of Eid al-Fitr (“festivity of breaking the fast”) marks the end of Ramadan, and the festive nature of this holiday (which rivals the 4th of July or New Year’s Eve) almost explodes as Muslims, having endured the month of total fasting, successfully return to their normal practice of being able to eat and drink during the day.
As Ramadan ends, pray that all the spiritual hunger and thirst will drive them to seek the Bread of Life and the Living Water of Christ. Pray that the seeds of the Gospel that have been planted during the past 30 days will be watered by the Holy Spirit and that there will be a great harvest of new believers gathered from among Muslims. (Matthew 13:1-23) Pray that each of the new believers from Islam will grow in faith and strength. Pray that the Lord will keep them safe from persecution and encourage them in their walk with Him.
