Volunteer Spotlight

carolynWomen in the Window International is delighted to introduce our featured volunteer, Carolyn Weda. In addition to serving as one of our Prayer Coordinators and Board members, she cheerfully helps with event planning and administrative projects. In all that she does, Carolyn blesses us with her gracious, gentle, and witty spirit!

We hope you will enjoy learning more about Carolyn in the brief interview below.  If God is leading you to serve with WiW, please learn more about our volunteer opportunities and contact us!

Carolyn, what compelled you to serve with Women in the Window?
I was ready to find a new area of ministry in which to serve when Kim came to speak to our fellowship group.  I was very impressed with the way that Women in the Window helps women in so many areas of life including spiritual formation, economic empowerment, education and leadership, wholistic healthcare, and human rights activity.  The training is well thought out and intended to be reproduced and multiplied.

What has been the most enjoyable aspect of your volunteer experience so far?
I have loved getting to know new sisters in Christ who love the Lord, want to serve, and have made me feel very welcome and appreciated.
What’s one of the most interesting things you’ve learned about WiW’s ministry?
The most wonderful thing I have seen is how focused and dependent on prayer this ministry is. They do not just ask God to bless plans after they have been made.  Everything is prayed over from the beginning – decisions, events, training trips, and of course the women and their ministries in the 10/40 Window.

What is a passage of Scripture that has special significance for you?
Philippians 4:6-7: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your heats and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
