Join Us THIS FRIDAY – June COVID-19 Connection Update (First Friday Prayer)

ONLY God knows the future. ONLY God knows the answered prayers we will see in this world, and what He reserves for us to see in eternity! But I am convinced and absolutely certain, that as we continue to ask, we will receive; to seek, we will find, and to KNOCK, the doors will be opened once again. God is turning our COVID-19 confinement into eternally beautiful COVID-19 CONNECTIONS! We will SEE the captives set free and the lost come to Christ as we keep looking to the One who does NOT disappoint.

Join us THIS Friday, June 5th as we embrace our next COVID-19 Connection at our First Friday Zoom Prayer Gathering.

Here’s the schedule.  Choose the best time for you to join the call:

11:30 to 12 noon—Sherry Marks, our Women in the Window Volunteer Prayer Coordinator and Board Member, will lead a prayer teaching on God’s Shield of Protection.

12 noon to 1 p.m.— Elizabeth, our ministry leader in West Africa, will share her vision and ongoing ministry to the unreached in neighboring communities and nations, as she makes and distributes hand sanitizer as an outreach and micro-business enterprise.

Watching and waiting with you, your sister in Christ,
Kim

COVID-Confinement becomes COVID-Connection

As we continue through this time of COVID-19 CONFINEMENT I am SO encouraged by the way God expresses His delight to you and is revealing Himself through you! As we focus one week on prayer and fasting, weeping between the porch and the altar He hastens to us in His Word. His Word, the Bible, literally glistens with hope—hope for a better day, and inspiration to live for Him in this DAY!

Yes, the Word of our Lord reminds us that we have been given a stewardship of LOVE that is higher and better than any other life purpose. He calls us to heed His warnings and walk through the doors of opportunity to higher places of connection with Him and one another! Esther was faced with a similar challenge as she faced death, and fear, in the face, and chose life & truth—Esther 4:14, 16 “But who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for just such a time as this… and if I perish, I perish.”

His truth always sets us free to be all that He has called us to be. He reminds us in Ephesians 2:6, “and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” It is here that we can see things that the world longs to see. And if we continue and do not turn back, I believe God will enable us to see a whole new Day of victory. Just like Daniel, if we “keep looking” we will see the Son of Man coming and the Ancient of Days present Him dominion, glory and the very Kingdom of God—

“I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, and He came up to the Ancient of Days and was presented before Him. And to Him was given dominion, glory, and a kingdom that all the peoples, nations and men of every language might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion which will not pass away; and His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed.” Daniel 7:13-14

ONLY God knows the future. ONLY God knows what we will see here in this world, and what He reserves for us to see in eternity! But I am convinced and absolutely certain, that as we continue to ask, we will receive; to seek, we will find, and to KNOCK, the doors will be opened once again. God will transform our COVID-19 CONFINEMENT into eternally beautiful COVID-19 CONNECTIONS!

We will SEE the captives set free and the lost come to Christ as we keep looking to the One who does NOT disappoint.

Watching and waiting with you, your sister in Christ,
Kim

Weeping between the porch and the altar

“Let the priests, the LORD’s ministers, weep between the porch and the altar…” Joel 2:17a

This verse first gripped my soul in mid-February 2020. I’ve read and studied the 2nd chapter of Joel on more than one occasion. But I don’t remember EVER seeing this verse before.  What does this mean, Lord? Where is this porch? What is the ‘space’ between the porch and the altar?

After spending time both studying and contemplating this AND watching current events unfold, I understood that this was a word from God’s heart to ours, truly His Word spoken for us in just the right circumstances,   “like apples of gold in settings of silver, is a word spoken in right circumstances.” Proverbs 25:11

In the New Testament we learn that all believers in Jesus have been given the authority to serve as priests (1 Peter 2:9-10). And in the book of Revelation, we are called a kingdom of priests, as we circle the Throne of God with our praises, both male and female, from all nations, tongues, tribes and people groups. In this time of COVID-19 confinement, we have a unique opportunity to not only weep but to realign our lives with God and serve others as we 1) slow down, 2) look up, 3) speak out.

Yes, the clarion call of God is clear and compelling—weep between the porch and the altar where mankind (ALL OF US!) set up false gods and turned away from the One True God. Call for a time of prayer and fasting, even weeping for those who are passing away from COVID-19.

Open your eyes and see the similarities between the situation in Jeremiah’s day and ours (see Jeremiah 9:17-21):
– Death has come up through our windows (the infection of 3 million+ and 200,000+ deaths)
– Children are cut off from the streets (education, sports and traveling, graduations, etc.)
– Young men (and women) are removed from the town squares (businesses shut down)

So we did just that! We called for ONE week of prayer and fasting to join our hearts together & cry out in prayer—shed tears and let our eyelids flow with water! To weep between the porch and the altar… even to teach our daughters to weep, pray, and wail on behalf of our neighbors, and our world. We KNOW that the heart of God is lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness, on earth!

So, we can be confident of this, God will hear and heed our cries. His promises are sure and He cannot deny Himself nor His Word;

“Weeping may endure for the night, but a shout of JOY comes in the morning.” Psalm 30:5

As we approach Him with a humble and contrite heart, we might just hear our name as Mary did on Resurrection morning, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” John 20:15

Yours because I’m His,

Kim

Ameera’s Call For COVID-19 Prayer (FF Prayer Invite May 1, 2020)

You are invited to JOIN OUR FIRST FRIDAY PRAYER Zoom Gathering, Friday, MAY 1, at Noon EST.  One of our Women in the Window partners, Ameera* from North Africa, who is currently living and serving Christ in Europe will speak from her heart about COVID-19 as it wages war against the peoples of Europe and North Africa.

It is increasingly clear that God has invited us to seek Him in the place of prayer, even weeping and prayer, between the porch and the altar! (see Joel 2:17) It is here that the work of intercessory prayer takes place. But this work, or labor of love, is not in vain. It holds the promise of great results as our God intently listens for the cries of His children.

  • Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning!
    (Psalm 30:5)
  • Those who go forth weeping, bearing precious seed, will indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing the sheaves (of harvest) with them! (Psalm 126:5-6)

God’s clarion call to pray, is clear and compelling. He urges us to weep between the porch and the altar where mankind has set up false gods and turned away from the One True God.  Just look at the similarities between the COVID-19 situation and Jeremiah 9:12-23:

  • Death has come up through our windows (the infection of nearly 3 million and 200,000+ deaths)
  • Children are cut off from the streets (education, sports and traveling to and fro)
  • Young men and women are removed from the town squares (of commerce)

God is asking us as His daughters, who have received the fullness of His love, His hope and His healing to join our hearts together and cry out in prayer—shed tears and let our eyelids flow with water! “Now, O women, hear the word of the LORD; open your ears to the words of His mouth. Teach your daughters how to weep…” Jeremiah 9:20a

This is an hour like none other, ladies. There has never been such a time in history, and there may never be another time as fraught with difficulty AND burgeoning with opportunity! Will you be one of the women God is calling to pray for the nations, including your own? And to pray for families, including yours?

I hope we will see you next Friday!

Welcome To The Place Between The Porch And The Altar. A Place Of Prayer.

a place of prayer

Greetings dear friends. I know this is quite a difficult time for many of us. Just like you, I’ve been talking with family and friends about the different ways the coronavirus is impacting our lives. Some are isolated themselves; some have loved ones in nursing homes who are not only at risk physically, but who suffer emotionally because they are quarantined and can’t be together with their family. Many are frightened by the financial downturn of our economy. And all of us are uncertain of where this is heading and how long it will take us to get there.

For all these reasons and more, I want to offer a word of encouragement. And an opportunity to join me and all of us at Women in the Window International, in a season of prayer.

In early February 2020, I was wonderstruck by a specific Bible verse. It seemed the LORD wanted me to pay attention to the meaning behind the verse and apply it in some way:

“Let the priests, who minister to the Lord, Weep between the porch and the altar;
Let them say, “Spare Your people, O Lord, and do not give Your heritage to reproach,

That the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples,
‘Where is their God?’”  Joel 2:17

I asked the LORD, “Just where is this “place” and why are You asking us to spend time there in fervent prayer, even weeping and prayer, on behalf of others AND on behalf of Your Name and reputation? How do I find my way to this place between the porch and the altar?”

Little did I know that just one month later it would all make perfect sense. The altars in our churches have now been closed due to the coronavirus. We simply cannot go to worship, learn, sing and pray together as a congregation of those who love to call upon the name of the Lord!

Yet now, even now (Joel 2:13-14), God is inviting us, even imploring us, to call out to Him with fervent prayer, even weeping and prayer. Because of Jesus we are not limited to a specific place, not even a specific time. We can fully and freely approach His altar, His throne of Grace!

Hebrews 4:14-16, “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

My heart revels at the thought that God, THE God of Creation and Redemption, has invited us to call on His Name, to come to this place of intercessory prayer on behalf of His glory and on behalf of His people in such a time of global need—between the porch and the altar!

For WiW, this place of prayer includes weeping for our Women in the Window International ministry partners who are persecuted for their faith in Christ and have been locked out of their churches in Hindu or Muslim dominated nations. They have not only been forbidden from going to church, they have been forcibly removed and the church doors sealed by the government.

Yes, we stand in the gap for them and for ALL those who are at risk of losing their lives, or who have lost precious loved ones due to COVID-19.

We ALSO stand in prayer for those who are deeply distressed by the financial downturn of the economy, including Women in the Window International as we need both financial and prayer support more than ever before! Our needs continue as our WiW ministry partners will continue to provide much needed ministry for women in their nations.

We cannot fully approach the physical altar of God’s house right now. But we do have a new and living altar that is readily accessible to all who believe—who humble themselves and believe that Jesus is in fact who He said He was—the Savior, the Redeemer, the Lord.

We would LOVE to pray for you and even with you. Please send your prayer requests to us by email or visit our website: https://womeninthewindow-intl.org/pray/  so we can pray for you!

We hope to hear from you and pray for your requests as together we wait, weep, and then finally, one day not too long from now, rejoice together between the porch and AT the altar!

Joyfully Serving and Trusting Him with you,

Kim
