December, A Month of Promises Made–and–Promises Kept

God sent His Son, Jesus, as a fulfillment of His Promise to demonstrate His Saving Love for this whole world. He makes promises, and keeps them, too. We at Women in the Window International are eager to demonstrate this same spirit of faithfulness to the women of Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Will you help us keep our promise to replace their poverty and injustice with dignity and purpose in Christ? Your gift towards our Calendar Year End goal of $30,000 is needed! None of this happens without you!

December is a delightful month for many reasons. It opens the season of winter with white crystals that grace the landscape (or, at least cooler temps and lower humidity!). It completes the calendar year and calls for much celebration. And best of all, it opens the gates of Heaven itself as the birth of our Savior is heralded by angels, and warmly greeted as “good news of great joy for all people.” (see Luke 2:10).

As we embrace the December of 2019, take just a moment or two to reflect on the promises God has made to us, and how entirely faithful He is to keep them all—each and every one:
Jesus, the Messiah, will be a light for all nations
Promise made—Isaiah 42:1-7, “Behold my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights. . .I will give you as a covenant for the people, a light for the nations”
Promise kept—Luke 2:30-32, “for my eyes have seen your salvation that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles”
Jesus, the Messiah, will be called Emmanuel, God with us
Promise made—Isaiah 7:14, “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name, Emmanuel.”
Promise kept—Matthew 1:22-23, “All this took place to fulfil what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name, “Emmanuel” (which means, God with us.”
Jesus, the Messiah, will be the Cornerstone upon which we can build our lives
Promise made—Psalm 118:22-29, “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is the LORD’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes.”
Promise kept—Luke 20:17, “But he (Jesus) looked directly at them and said, “What then is this that was written: The stone that the builders rejected has become the Cornerstone?”

Yes! He is the Cornerstone of this ministry, Women in the Window International. This is wonderful Good News that we share with women “in the window” all year through.
