When 2020 began, our objectives were firmly in place. Our WiW ministry partners in the 10/40 window were poised to receive our training teams and continue the good work of the Gospel—with hands, feet, and hearts fully engaged. We were positioned for this year to be a banner year of ministry in all five training capacities. What we did not know, and could never have anticipated, is how God would use a global pandemic to rearrange our plans and objectives for even greater good.
“And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them.”
Isaiah 42:16
The process of spiritual discernment has been foundational to WiW since its inception. But now we have the opportunity to deepen our understanding of how to seek, find, and do the will of God together with our ministry partners in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. And we have seen just how strategically positioned we are to bring Christ to the world we have been called to love and serve together.
You were with us all the way
First the Discerning...
In early february, god spoke to us through Joel 2:17, “ let the priests, the lord’s ministers, weep between the porch and the altar. . . ” and we discerned that god was calling women in the window to a time of fervent prayer. We invited others to join our fasting and prayer initiative to seek and discern his direction.
When the international travel ban was put in place, our efforts to prayerfully discern God’ s will reached new heights. We had no choice but to surrender all of our plans to receive God's plans—which are always good, always loving, and always better than anything we can ask, think, or even imagine.
Discernment is an everincreasing capacity to “ see ” or discern the works of God in the midst of the human situation so that we can align ourselves with whatever it is that God is doing.

. . . THEN THE DOING!
Women in the Window is passionate about applying our core values! We are Christcentered, Bible-based, Prayer driven, Relationally led, Kingdom builders. With Christ at the center and the Bible as our base, prayer became the driving force to direct, redirect and enable us to pivot in the new direction God was leading.
Because of deep abiding relationships with our indigenous ministry partners and our mutual passion for building His Kingdom together, we are now rejoicing in new platforms of growth and fruitfulness.

The ministry stories and updates in this newsletter, on our blog, and in our Open Windows Virtual Celebration are a living testament to God’s response to our weeping, our prayers, and our desire to seek His will through the process of spiritual discernment. He is worthy of our faith, hope, and love. He is “… the God who works wonders.” - Psalm 77:14a
