“Your honest faith – and what a rich faith it is, was handed down from your grandmother Lois to your mother Eunice, and now to you! And the special gift of ministry you received when I laid hands on you and prayed – keep that ablaze! God doesn’t want us to be shy with His gifts, but bold and loving and sensible.”
2 Timothy 1:5-7 (The Message)
Timothy was Paul’s son in the faith, the one who served faithfully alongside him in good times and bad, and was gifted by God and fervently prayed for by the apostle Paul, “I long to see you, even as I recall your tears, so that I might be filled with joy.” Wow! What a legacy of faith. And where did it all begin? With Timothy’s mother and grandmother. In many homes, communities, and nations, God has handed the key for the next generation to the ones who rock the cradle, the mothers!
Women in the Window International is not ignorant of this reality, and we greatly desire to strengthen the role of mothers by reaching them with the Good News of the Gospel so that they pass this very same Good News on to their sons, daughters, and grandchildren. God has opened a door for us to do just that in one of the most significant and strategic parts of the world – the Holy Land – along with our ministry partner there, Jerusalem Evangelistic Outreach (JEO).
As most of the world prepares to celebrate Mother’s Day, we will partner with JEO to reach out to Arab women with the message of freedom found in Christ, who is the only source of comfort and salvation! In honor of Mother’s Day, JEO will issue a special edition of a women’s weekly devotional. This booklet will include devotions written by women that feature biblical stories of women which address issues that Arab women face daily.
Our goal is to distribute the booklets to more than 5,000 women across the Holy Land, including Israel, Palestine, and Jordan. Will you help us make this special outreach possible? For every gift of only $5, together with JEO we can produce and distribute 2 devotionals in Arabic to mothers. To support our Mother’s Day outreach, visit our donations page and select “Mother’s Day Offering” as your gift designation.
Let’s continue the biblical tradition of grandmothers, mothers, and children loving and serving Christ, the Savior of the whole world. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate His Resurrection and Life, can you? May you, your family, and your loved ones experience the presence and love of our Lord Jesus this Resurrection Sunday. From all of us at Women in the Window International, Happy Easter!
Rejoicing in His life and love,
