Greetings from the Cheyenne River Reservation!
“. . . until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is deemed a forest. Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness abide in the fruitful field. And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever.” Isaiah 32:15-17
These pictures show the stark beauty of the Dakota plains as seen from the windows of the Moreau River Sanctuary. We arrived yesterday and began the Trauma Healing Seminar last night. Many of you have been praying that God would bring the right women to attend this conference and I am glad to say this prayer has been answered. Attendees are women who are ready to learn, who want to grow and bring growth to others including a pastor, a pastor’s wife and a woman who runs a jail ministry.
Last night’s session focused on suffering: why it happens, lies we often believe about ourselves and God when we experience suffering and the truth that God’s love is always with us no matter what we go through. The ladies paired up to discuss how our earthly fathers may have colored our views of our Heavenly Father. The openness and vulnerability of the women was astounding.
Please pray for the Women in the Window inductive Bible study on Abigail and the Trauma healing sessions which will continue today and tomorrow. We thank you for your continued prayers.
