“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” – 2 Corinthians 9:15
Our God gives good gifts! He promises His best gifts for those who wholeheartedly and humbly seek Him. This was the daily reality of more than 40 women leaders from the Arab world during last week’s WiW MENA conference. Each morning began with praise and worship, sometimes dancing, as we gathered to lift high the name of Jesus Christ our Savior, in at least three languages!
Leadership lessons on the following were taught by Dr. Cheryl Parker, Moody Bible Institute professor and Women in the Window servant leader, along with Lara Holt and several outstanding Arab women leaders:
- Conflict resolution
- Training trainers
- Leadership vs. management
- Time management
Arab women leaders developed application case studies to apply these truths. More interactive afternoon sessions included a “spiritual spa” that allowed time and space to pray, interact with other women, and creatively express our blessings and challenges in this season of life. Breakout sessions, panel discussions with men leaders from the Arab world, and the WiW Inductive Bible study on Lydia from Acts 16 filled our hearts and minds with the truths of God’s Word and the essential role of women to advance God’s kingdom and complete the Great Commission.
Meanwhile, on another continent, one of our ministry partners in West Africa led a health training with the tools she gained from our WiW training held in her nation earlier in 2017. She taught the women:
- Inductive Bible study of the widow’s oil from 2 Kings 4:1-6
The African women leaders rejoiced in this life-skills health training and marveled as they discovered another of God’s good gifts — the gift of abundance in the face of abject poverty. The widow’s sons were about to be sold into slavery. As they prayed and obeyed, their needs were met with abundance!
As we complete 2017, our fourth and greatest year of ministry to date here at Women in the Window International, we continue to seek to both pray and obey God’s leading. And we thank God for you: our prayer partners, our supporters, our friends! You are a good gift from God to us! A very good gift!
Please continue to pray for us! We have more requests for WiW trainings from women leaders in the 10/40 Window and beyond than ever before. Pray for wisdom, provision, for the refining of our curriculum, and for more laborers to help us train this increasing number of women across the globe.
And, as you pray, please prayerfully consider a generous year-end gift for Women in the Window International so that we can continue to give the good gift, the greatest gift of all — the inexpressible gift of Christ — to women and through women who are wholeheartedly and humbly seeking Him! May this Christmas draw you and yours closer to Christ than ever before. May you daily discover ways to overflow with the good news of the inexpressible gift of His love!
