Sowing, Reaping, and Making a Difference!

Have you ever planted a garden starting with just seeds? If so, you know that the type of seeds you plant or sow, is the type of plants you will grow and reap – what we sow, we reap!

The Bible talks about seeds in all of its major books – the five books of the Pentateuch, or Old Testament law, most books of History, all of the Major Prophets, and many of the Minor Prophets, too. All four of the Gospels, several of the Epistles to the churches and the book of Revelation. Wow. When we see a topic mentioned that many times it is clear that this topic is of major significance. It is God’s megaphone saying, “Pay attention!”

So just what do we learn about seeds, and then from seeds in the Bible? Here are a few simple principles that we can build our lives upon – strong, simple and significant:

  1. The type of seed you plant in the ground is the type of plant that will grow.
Okay, I know that sounds super simple, and even a bit trite. But when we transfer this physical principle of sowing seeds of discord instead of peace, or seeds of envy instead of love, or seeds of impatience instead of trust – guess what – that’s what we are setting ourselves up to receive. Instead sow seeds of faith, hope and love.
  2. The type of soil you place your seed in makes a tremendous difference in the seed’s ability to grow, bear fruit and flourish. The Bible mentions things that starve the seed: doubting God’s goodness and love, filling our days with worldly pleasures rather than spiritual treasures, and neglecting our own souls and our need for Him. Instead, let’s keep the soil of our hearts soft, well-nourished through times of refreshing in His Word and enjoyable times of renewal alone and with others.
  3. The patience of the farmer is needed to reap the full harvest that God wants for you! The farmer knows that he / she must wait for the seed to take root, sprout and then bear fruit. Our life is quite similar. When we sow seeds of righteousness and goodness, that’s what we can expect, but it comes later and it is often greater.

Quoting the late Dr. Charles Stanley, “The law of sowing and reaping states: 1) You reap what you sow, 2) You reap more than you sow, and 3) You reap later than you sow.”

Thank you, friend, for helping Women in the Window sow seeds of Life and Truth in the 10.40 window nations of Africa, Asia and the Middle East. May you and yours reap a bountiful harvest as a result!

For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations.”

Isaiah 61:11

INTRODUCING SO LOVED 2026!

The Essentials Bible Study invites women to see themselves through the window of God’s Word while equipping them with practical tools to study and read the Bible on their own. Women across the globe are asking for this resource. Will you join us in sowing into their discipleship—letting them know they are SO LOVED by a God who left the greatest love letter the world has ever known?

Help us Reach our So Loved Goal of $5,000 to provide 250 copies of Essentials for women in Pakistan, Algeria and India!

How Resilient are you?

Many thanks to you, WiW is rooted and ready for 2026; eager to experience a year overflowing with fruitfulness in partnership with amazing women leaders throughout Africa, Asia and the Middle East. God wants us to be fruitful. He is actively involved in our lives helping us grow and flourish! He lovingly tends to all our needs, even the need for pruning. He waters and nourishes us, using His Word, His Holy Spirit, and His people.

So much of the Bible includes examples from nature. This month, we have compared the spiritual growth of our lives and service to the practical lessons we learn from trees. And today, let’s turn our attention to one of my all-time favorites, the cedar trees of Lebanon:

  •  The Cedar of Lebanon is a tough and resilient tree. It can withstand both extremes of weather as well as resist pests and diseases. Cedars stand strong and live long.
  • Cedar trees are adaptable. In a forest setting, the Cedar of Lebanon typically grows pointy and straight branches. In more open environments, its branches spread out.
  • It is patient and does not “blossom” until the age of thirty. At around 30 years of age, the cedar tree starts to grow 2-inch-long seedlings for the next generation of Cedars.
  • Cedar pitch has been used to ease toothaches and its sawdust to ward off snakes. A cedar can be both a protector and a healer.
  • Cedar trees are significant and notable. In fact, the word cedar is mentioned 103 times in the Bible. My favorite reference is found in Psalm 92:12-14,

“The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age; they will stay fresh and green.”

How resilient are you? When you think about your day-to-day life, do you need resilience, adaptability, patience? Are you eager to provide protection and healing for others? I believe you are and that you do, or you would not have read this far in our WiW Wednesday e-newsletter :).

Well, I have great news for you. . .

When our focus is on serving Christ and growing in His Word, we find true significance. Yes, in Christ, we are not only notable – with our names written in His book of Life—but we are planted, purposeful, and positioned to serve others well with resilient and fruitful lives!

Join us for WiW’s 4th Annual Soul Care Retreat at the Royal Poinciana Chapel in Palm Beach! Spend the day worshiping, learning, and reflecting on how to flourish and bear lasting fruit in every season. Enjoy inspiring sessions, creative arts, small group discussions, and a peaceful hour of solitude beneath the Kapok tree.

Will We See You There?

We are getting so excited about our 4th Annual Soul Care Retreat – Fruitful and Flourishing! With only 10 days to go, seats are filling up and plans are coming to fruition (pardon the pun). Perhaps you are still thinking about whether or not, this is an opportunity for YOU?! We’d love to encourage you to join us, by introducing our speaker, Amanda Gonzalez:

Not only will our day be filled with wonderful teaching from Amanda, praise and worship from talented singers and dancers from Palm Beach Atlantic University, BUT, it will be filled with togetherness. And we know that being together helps us grow and makes us smile!

But, did you know that even blueberries need other blueberries to help them grow?! While blueberries can technically “grow” as individual shrubs, most resources emphasize that they need to be planted in proximity to other blueberries to set fruit effectively.

According to the University of Florida, “fruit set generally increases with cross-pollination between two different plants.” Their research shows that cross-pollinated berries can be up to 42% larger and ripen significantly earlier (up to 27 days) than self-pollinated berries.”

So grab your seat, and bring a friend or two with you—we promise you will not only learn more about how to live a fruitful and flourishing life – but you will leave with a smile !!

Reminiscing on last years Soul Care Retreat

Planted in Him, Fruitful for Eternity

I’ll never forget the time I heard a group of Christian leaders describing the way they were protecting the lives of baby girls in India! You see, it is common to favor a boy child over a girl child in India, even to the point of destroying the lives of pre-born and just-born baby girls. This practice is called femicide and is a tragic portrayal of just how sinful and selfish we can all become apart from the love of Christ.

But in this village, men and women gathered together to change this practice. Each time a baby girl is born, they plant a tree! That’s correct. A tree. Each time a baby girl is born they plant a tree that represents life and promises food for the future. Girls are now seen as a source of life and future hope.

Why a tree, you may ask? Excellent question, and let’s turn to the book of beginnings in the Bible to discover more about the significance and purpose of trees and their connection to our Everlasting God.

“Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba and called there on the name of the Lord, the Everlasting God.”

Genesis 21:33

This verse is incredibly rich with biblical meaning. Not only is it the first mention of God as “El Olam,” which translates from Hebrew: the Everlasting God. And demonstrates how Abraham relied upon God with a fervent prayer life, “Called on the name of the Lord,” points us to the earliest reference to prayer in the Bible, Genesis 4:26, and doing so publicly and audibly was a declaration of faith and a dedication of this place to El Olam! BUT…

  • It reminds us that all of nature, including trees, reveals that God is the giver of life!
  •  And it demonstrates that Abraham planned to stay “planted” in this place for years to come.

God wants to plant us deeply in the soil of His Word so that we can bear fruit, much fruit and more fruit – to last for eternity. WiW is devoted to Him and to our ministry partners. We will serve faithfully and help them develop the strategies and learn the skills that will equip and empower them to serve Christ so that they can replace poverty and injustice with dignity and purpose in Christ! You make this possible!

Yes! God is the Giver and Sustainer of life in all its forms. And throughout 2026, Women in the Window will focus our attention on becoming Fruitful and Flourishing. We will proclaim the goodness of God as we equip and empower women leaders to place their faith in Jesus, share the love of Jesus, and find practical and life-giving ways to help them become Fruitful and Flourishing through our partnerships.

From saving baby girls in India, veiled women in the Middle East, and women living in refugee camps in Africa, let’s continue to plant our lives, and theirs, in Christ to bear much fruit and flourish in His service!!

“When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine.”

John 15:8 Amplified Bible

His last words = our first priority!

Last words are powerful. They mean something. Often, something significant.
As followers of Christ, His last words are the first words on our minds, and in our hearts as we focus on completing 2025 and preparing for 2026 with authenticity and unction.

Jesus; “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you: and you will be My witnesses … as far as the remotest part of the earth.”
Acts 1:8

If you have traveled with WiW, you know that we have the awesome privilege of heading to some of these very places. Remote. Desolate. Difficult. And, places full of opportunity!
This year WiW traveled to nations in Africa, Asia, and in the Middle East/North Africa to train some amazing women. And as they receive training, and are transformed, they in turn travel to transform others in far flung nations where Americans are no longer allowed to enter.

WiW total of women/girls trained in 2025 = 2,921

WiW total of women/girls trained in 2026 = it’s up to YOU!

Next year we will increase our reach to even more remote places and people – but we need your help to do just that! We are so close to reaching our $100K match and our largest annual budget goal ever, $500K. Every dollar doubles to increase this amazing opportunity.
In nations where children are chronically hungry, WiW will form Community Transformation Groups to equip and empower women to provide for their children, and the children of their towns and villages. In nations, where it is illegal to publicly meet to teach God’s Word, WiW will enable women to learn about their role in God’s Story, the Bible, through Essentials now translated into 10 languages as together we satisfy their growing spiritual hunger.

Will you help us?
It may the last day of this year, but a New Year brimming with the promise of being fruitful, and flourishing among those who live in the remotest parts of the earth is just within reach! Your gift today can change their lives for good. Forever.
Check out this awesome testimony from one of our Ministry Partners in Asia:

And that’s a WRAP!

Merry Christmas to you and your family, Melanie,

We are wrapping up this year with hearts full of joy. As we take a few days off to celebrate our Savior’s birth, the greatest gift of all, we also celebrate the gift of each one of YOU.

You are an essential part of our Women in the Window International family. Because of your generosity and love, so freely given in 2025, 2,921 women and girls in the 10.40 window nations of Africa, Asia and the Middle East, are living a new and better life, transformed by His grace, and wrapped up in Him. They can now receive the love of God as He whispers to each one,

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with lovingkindness.”
Jeremiah 31:3

Friend, as you have so freely given, may you in turn freely and abundantly receive, the everlasting lovingkindness and joy of God expressed in Christ our Lord this Christmas!

Grateful, Joyful and Triumphant,

Kim for us all at WiW

Ready or Not….

“For as his share is who goes down into the battle, so shall his share be who stays by the baggage. They shall share alike.” 1 Samuel 30:24 ESV

Thank you! Your investment of fervent prayer and sacrificial support for Women in the Window, has paved the way for a great victory of grace and truth in the lives of Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) women leaders. During our recent trip, we were invited to serve women leaders in Dubai, and they enthusiastically received our Essentials Bible study training. They are now well-positioned to impact the next generation.

As the Bible teaches in the verse above, 1 Samuel 30:24, you play a vital role in everything WiW does, and our prayer is that He abundantly blesses you with a double portion of all that He has uniquely prepared just for you!!

We also want to invite you to participate in our 10th Anniversary Mother’s Day offering, as we raise $10,000 to serve 1,000 women! Your support will help us to serve—

700 widows in Sub-Saharan Africa with soap-making
200 teenage girls in South Asia with health training
100 women leaders from the MENA region with leadership development

We will send a lovely Mother’s Day card to the “Mom” of your choice for each gift we receive AND if you are a FIRST TIME DONOR, we have a special gift just for you! Perhaps you are ready to become a WiW Soul Supporter, and receive the extra benefits of being part of this essential core group of supporters, if so, click Soul Supporter to join us!

Will you be one in a million and do what YOU can? Your share in the battle enables WiW to win the war – as we replace poverty and injustice with dignity and purpose in Christ.

With you in the Battle – His servant and yours,

The Delights of Christmas!

Is it the food? The gift-giving, or sweet times of fellowship? I must admit that I do love the songs of Christmas! Each one has its own bold, and sometimes hidden message. Words set to a tune, the music of Christmas fills our soul and enlightens our minds with the goodness of God, and the wonder of a Savior who exceeds our wildest imagination – our highest hopes – for today, tomorrow and forever.

In all nations, including the nations in the 10.40 window, where WiW serves, the songs of Christmas ring out throughout December. Some have an overt message that shout out loud – Jesus Christ is born!

But in many nations and diverse situations, there is a need for a covert message of Christian hope. Such is the case with the following Christmas carol: A Partridge in a Pear Tree.

Let’s decode this together…

The 12 Days of Christmas

1

The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ. (A partridge is a bird that is known to sacrifice its life for its babies. This bird represents Jesus, who is willing to give his life for us. The pear tree symbolizes the Cross.)

2

Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.

3

Three French hens stood for faith, hope, and love.

(1 Corinthians 13:13)

4

The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.

5

The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament.

6

The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.

(Genesis 1-2)

7

Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit–Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Giving, Leadership, and Mercy.

(Listed in Romans 12:6-8, and taught in our WiW Leadership Trainings throughout the 10.40 window)

8

The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.

(Matthew 5:3-12)

9

Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit–Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control.

(Galatians 5:22-23)

10

The ten lords a-leaping represent the Ten Commandments.

(Exodus 20:1-17)

11

The eleven pipers piping stand for the eleven faithful disciples.

(Matthew 28:16)

12

The twelve drummers drumming symbolize the twelve points of belief in the Apostles’ Creed.

We’re Shifting Our Focus—Come Pray with Us!
Join us for a powerful time of prayer for the nations as we hear firsthand from our Ministry Partner in Asia. This month we’re focusing on women’s oppression across the 10/40. We will be meeting with one of our newest Ministry Partners in Pakistan.

Whether you’re joining in person at the WiW office or online, come ready to lift up our brothers and sisters. For example, 1000+ women are murdered in the name of honor in one South Asian nation. Let’s unite in prayer for these injustices to stop and for women to walk in the dignity and purpose that comes from Christ!

As always, you’ll also receive our monthly prayer calendar, filled with daily prompts to help you consistently pray for the women of the 10/40 Window throughout the month.

We’d love for you to join us—your prayers make a difference.

Is it too soon to say it…?

We hope not.

Because Christmas is an opportunity for hope to triumph over sorrow! And Advent is a season of preparation for Christmas. During Advent we look forward to the coming of Christ, with hope, peace, joy and love. We have now officially entered the season of Advent – November 30 to December 24, 2025. The Reason for the Season, the birth of our Savior, is anticipated throughout this month of Advent as we celebrate with the 4 themes of Hope (week #1), Peace (week #2), Joy (week #3), and Love (week #4 – Christmas).

Advent points us to the Coming of our Savior at Christmas and the Second Coming of our Savior, to gather His bride, the Church, to be with Him forever. Here are some delightful ways that you can join WiW in both celebration and preparation!

Joyfully Serving Christ with you,

Kim for us all at Women in the Window International

Happy Thanksgiving!

Multiply your impact and THEIR Joy!

Every time we meet with our ministry partners, our hearts rejoice! Yesterday was no different as we heard the story of four young Moroccan women who have placed their faith in Jesus. Although this is a treacherous state of affairs, due to the potential persecution they may face, their hearts are full of praise, and overflow with JOY. In many ways, they embody the words of Jesus found in John 15:10-11,

“If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.”

Our ministry partners in North Africa are fruitful and faithful! They faithfully serve among the people who follow a religion of works that has Mohammed as its source, rather than the One True God who offers us refreshment at the River of Living Water that flows from within once we trust in Him.

As they make disciples among the North African women, they want them to understand their true identity, so they empower these women through our Essentials Bible study. Essentials teaches them how to study the Bible for themselves and how to enjoy the process through various interactive Bible study steps.

AND Essentials provides real-life examples of women who bravely stood for Truth, who lovingly gave their all, and as Hebrews 11:26 teaches us, they consider the reproach of Christ of greater value than the riches of this world, because they understand their rewards are waiting for them to enjoy throughout eternity!

YOU can make a difference in the lives of not only 5, but 2500 women just like these! From now until December 31, 2025, EVERY DOLLAR up to $50,000 DOUBLES to reach our Essentials Goal.

We have received requests for 2,500 copies of Essentials for women in Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Pakistan, Zimbabwe, and India! will you help us answer this call and reach this purposeful goal? We know it is a BIG Goal, but we serve a God who is faithful and able to provide abundantly! When you give $20, you help us provide TWO Essentials Bible Studies for women in need! GOAL = 2500 COPIES OF ESSENTIALS, from Algeria to Zimbabwe (and beyond!) X $20 = $50,000.

P.S. Stay tuned for updates and photos from Triumph of the Heart!

Speak up and Stand Out!

“She now boldly speaks about her ordeal and uses her story to empower other young girls.”

As Public Prosecutor in the Regional Court system of Zimbabwe, Shamiso handled multiple cases, but none more gruesome than this young 16-year-old girl’s rape. The crime left her body impaired and unable to give birth.

“I prosecuted the case successfully and secured a conviction. I did my best to remind the young girl that she could still be anything in life, and this should not discourage her from pursuing her dreams. (FAST FORWARD 8 Years) Just a few days ago, I received a call from an unknown number. I answered, and the voice reminded me of this case. She thanked me and told me she was now going to University and that I was her role model. I was so humbled I cried as I spoke with her.”

If you are attending our Triumph of the Heart Gala this Friday evening here in South Florida, you will hear the video testimony of Shamiso, a human rights attorney and ministry leader with African Enterprise in Zimbabwe. Moved by the despair of young girls all around her, Shamiso stood up, fought back, and her courage emboldened this young woman, a survivor of rape, to take action on behalf of others.

Sadly, this case is not rare or unusual. Yet, God is moving among His people, teaching and training us to:

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”

Proverbs 31:8-9

Girls experience greater abuse in developing nations. For example:

• In 2013, UNESCO reported that nearly 25 percent of all girls in developing countries have not completed primary school, and that out of the 774 million people in the world who are illiterate, two-thirds are women.

• Many factors play into the inequality seen in educational systems in numerous developing countries where for every 100 boys not enrolled in primary school there are 426 girls. Often, poverty is the primary reason for this discrepancy. When families struggle to send multiple children to class, male children are often prioritized. Many girls in developing countries are oppressed by traditional gender roles that marginalize a female’s role in society.

• Across the world over 60 million girl babies are ‘missing’ – killed for being a girl or deliberately under-nourished and neglected.

• 99 percent of women and young girls in one specific North African nation report experiencing abuse, according to psychologists serving that population.

• In just one Muslim South Asian nation, over 1,000 women a year are murdered in the name of ‘honour’. (according to the United Nations)

Shamiso saw a need and took a step in faith to speak up so that this young lady can now stand out as someone making a difference in her generation.
