“The Lord gives the word; the women who proclaim the good news are a great host.”
Psalm 68:11
“Give to Gain” is this year’s International Women’s Day theme. The IWD 2026 theme promotes a giving and team-oriented culture and highlights the importance of support and reciprocity. Opportunities and support for women rise when individuals, groups, and communities contribute liberally. [1] We agree with this perspective from the global news source, Business Standard, and we celebrate the way God has uniquely made women as givers. All throughout the Bible, we see women giving, caring and yes, proclaiming.
From Deborah under a palm tree, proclaiming the truth in the book of Judges, to Huldah in the Chronicles, wisely counseling King Josiah, to Mary, singing songs of prophetic glory about the Gift of God who would pierce her soul, to Lydia who opened her heart, her home and launched the very first house church in the western world – we are proclaimers!
This First Friday, March 6th, we will hear directly from one of our ministry partners in Zimbabwe, Shamiso, who is a Human Rights attorney with powerful stories to tell. Our WiW team is headed to Zimbabwe this Spring to serve alongside her and her team to:
Replace poverty and injustice with dignity and purpose in Christ!
Contrast the world’s standards and statistics to the work of the Lord through WiW:
- Last year, you helped us raise $4,000 for 40 Sudanese women to start their own sewing business – and they are thriving, rather than surviving—as a result!
- Pakistani women and girls will have the opportunity to see themselves as gifts from God rather than objects of torment, through Essentials Bible Study method.
- Middle Eastern women embrace principles of justice without compromising their position of biblical truth. And they are learning that Their Story Matters to God!
So, dear friend, wherever you are on March 8th, and whatever you are doing – proclaim the Good News! The beautiful gifts of God’s truth and love are not meant to be hoarded – they are given so that we will share freely and generously. We do give to gain, but to gain the Kingdom of God so that others can know Him, love Him, and serve Him too. Learn how you can do this with Women in the Window International below!
