Whether you’re joining in person at the WiW office or online, come ready to lift up our brothers and sisters facing persecution and suffering around the world. Let’s unite in prayer for peace and for the gospel to continue to go forth!

As always, you’ll also receive our monthly prayer calendar, filled with daily prompts to help you consistently pray for the women of the 10/40 Window throughout the month.

We’d love for you to join us—your prayers make a difference.

Do you see it? There’s beauty in Brokenness!

We are humbled by the way God enables our ministry partners to triumph in extremely dire situations and challenges, such as anti-conversion laws, political crises resulting in economic calamities, and the desperate needs within their own families. They become our teachers as they model the principles and practices of triumph through suffering, resulting in transformation and beauty through brokenness:

“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves; we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.”

2 Corinthians 4: 7-10

Our focus for 2025 has been learning how to live out a triumphant Christian life, and I can’t think of any better way to learn these incredibly valuable lessons than in partnership with Christ-followers in the majority world. The authenticity and integrity of their lives and witness inspire us to deeper service.

May I invite you to join us?

The year is not quite over, and we would love for you to participate!

Join our First Friday prayer gathering to hear directly from one of our ministry partners in North Africa.

Yours Because I’m His

We’re STILL saving you a seat!

What comes to mind when you think of someone who is triumphant? Perhaps a great athlete or a skilled debater who can outshine their fiercest opponent? There are many ways to define a triumphant life, but for those who follow Jesus, the path to victory involves humility and service. Jesus exemplified this by washing the feet of His disciples and kneeling down to defend a woman facing condemnation. He was a servant leader, and anyone aspiring to live a triumphant life in Christ is called to serve others. We have focused on triumphant service throughout 2025, and now want to celebrate the triumphant victories God has brought during the Triumph of the Heart Gala, an Evening of Worship and Giving!

Here at Women in the Window International, we are privileged to serve Christ with some truly incredible servant leaders, including our Triumph of the Heart Gala Speaker:

Esther Chengo!

We are thrilled to welcome Esther Chengo, a dynamic and visionary leader from African Enterprise, one of Women in the Window International’s esteemed ministry partners! African Enterprise is dedicated to evangelizing urban areas in Africa through both words and actions in collaboration with local churches.

Originally from Nairobi, Kenya, Esther serves as the Communications and Programs Manager. She possesses a contagious passion for empowering women and communities through Christ-centered leadership development, discipleship, and holistic outreach.

Esther recently received her EdD in Organizational Change and Administration. She is a global catalyst for transformation with multiple roles in the Lausanne Global Movement, helping faith take root and flourish across Africa and from Africa to the rest of the world. She is actively involved in Movement Day Africa, and serves in Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM), and serves on the Board for YouVersion Bible App. We can’t wait for you to meet Esther at this year’s Gala!

We are So grateful to Each of our Gala Chairs and all of the hard work and commitment they have put into not only this event, but to Women in the Window as a whole! Join us in thanking them!

From Poverty to Praise

Have you ever noticed that God has an affinity for those who are afflicted? And that those who suffer have an incredibly special place in His heart? Recently, while I was reading the Bible and pausing to listen as the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart, I noticed the way God takes special interest and gives His loving attention to those who are afflicted and suffering:

“For he has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.”

Psalm 22:24

Women in the Window desires to be a ministry that reflects the very heart of God as we serve women in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. His affections, His attentions, and His priorities become ours, as we seek to reflect His tendermercies. The following story brings this to life:

“Emmanuel (God is with us!). Hello, my name is Kotiba. And I learned a lot from this training, and I want to thank God for you and your ministry. First of all, I learned the five steps of the Inductive Bible Study Method (Essentials): Preparation, Observation, Interpretation, Application, and Reflection. By reading the Bible according to this method, we gained deep knowledge about God’s plan and how it includes stories of women. Women and girls like me are part of God’s beautiful story!

During our “heart” Trauma Healing Training, I learned how to recover from trauma, through lamenting, grieving, and forgiving others. I also learned that although my life has been so hard, I can actually start anew by following this trauma healing journey with God. You see, my parents work as day laborers and are extremely poor. They can provide only a little food for our family with the wages they earn. When there is no work, we have no food and sometimes we survive only by drinking water. This hurts me and makes me wonder about God, but this training taught me that we shouldn’t lose trust in God. We need to learn to talk about our pain and suffering, to God and to others. And, after we grieve and lament, we learn to have faith and depend on God and His people, just like the widow in the Bible story, ‘The Widow’s Oil.

Yes! Because of you, God has rescued Kotiba from her afflictions. Through our partnership with Talitha Koumi in Asia, and reaching girls like Kotiba, we provide tools to provide for them physically but also to strengthen them emotionally, relationally, and spiritually.

Thank you for reflecting God’s heart for the afflicted through your partnership with WiW.

God is not unjust, nor is He forgetful

Our focus on justice continues this month as we head to Asia and regard the lives of women and girls who are being set free from oppression through the hands-on ministry of Women in the Window.

First stop: India!

Education is highly valued among the people of India, but many do not have access to education throughout the subcontinent. This is especially true of girls and women. Here are two stories of young women in India, whose lives have been impacted and are eager to share what they learned:

“I have 2 girls, both married. After the first day of the training, I called my daughters and told them I had learned many new things about women’s health. I never discussed anything with my daughters regarding the issues related with periods and health. No one taught me, and I too didn’t discuss it with my daughters. I will tell mothers at my church that they have to talk with their daughters, and now I can teach them.”

-Urvashi

“I learnt a lot from the Inductive Bible study about a woman in the Bible. This is the first time I learned we can study the Bible like this. I got many answers by asking who, what, when, and where. I am so amazed. Surely I will do this study at home and teach at my women’s fellowship at Church.”

-Sujita

Throughout October, we will focus on the women and girls of Asia, and how WiW is fulfilling the mission of Christ to set captives free (see Luke 4:18) as we continue our Bangladesh trainings with the Hilltribe girls rescued from great harm and destruction, and prepare the Way into Pakistan in 2026.

Yes! We praise God for our ministry partners and the JOY of serving Christ with them, shoulder to shoulder. The unsung hero of this story, and every story that WiW loves to tell, is the story of our volunteers! We cannot emphasize enough the immense value our volunteers bring to our mission.

Here’s a pop quiz to help put their significance in perspective:
How many staff members work for WiW?

a. 5
b. 7
c. 12
d. 2

If you guessed “d.” you are correct!
To emphasize the impact of our volunteers, consider the ratio of the work God has called us to accomplish to the number of women & girls served to the number of staff!

Women and girls trained in 2025 (so far!): 2674
Number of staff: 2

We appreciate YOU more than we can possibly say, and we wantto celebrate YOU throughout October!

On Wednesday, October 15th, we invite you to visit our office after 12pm to receive a free gift and to enjoy a cup of international coffee or tea together. If you are considering joining our team, you are most welcome, too!

Tears of Injustice Stories of Joy

Justice hangs in the balance and is often interpreted according to cultural norms and personal perspectives. But the Word of God has established justice as one of unchangeable authority. God sent His Son, Jesus, to reveal and establish justice for all peoples and nations:

“Behold, My Servant, whom I uphold; My chosen One in whom My soul delights. I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the nations…”

Isaiah 42:1-4

WiW has established human rights and justice (Advocacy), as one of our Five Capacity trainings. Women in the Window is well aware of the painful injustices in the nations we serve, resulting in poverty and lack of dignity. But we are even more aware of the power of the Truth to triumph over and reverse the lies of injustice and oppression.

Want to learn more?

Join our conversation this Friday as we gather for our First Friday Prayer Gathering with Dr. Paul Mbanga and Monica, African Enterprise associates in Kisumu, Kenya.

Pastor Paul Pictured below in front of the gates of Christian Family Fountain Church, where he serves as Pastor to a congregation that is 80% children- See some of their pictures below!

In Kenya, like many of the other nations we serve, the culture is deeply influenced by honor and shame, which can create unique challenges for children with disabilities and their families. We hope to walk alongside these communities, providing advocacy training that equips families, caregivers, and local leaders to help children understand that they are deeply loved by God.

Hear inspiring stories of Pastor Paul and his wife, who are dedicating their lives to engaging moms and families of children in their community-especially those with disabilities.

Through their work, families are learning to recognize the inherent value of every child, seeing each person as wonderfully and intentionally made in the image of God. By fostering understanding, compassion, and advocacy, they are helping shift cultural perceptions and create communities where every child is celebrated and supported.

SAVE THE DATE!

It is with joy and expectancy we announce Triumph of the Heart, Night of Worship and Giving, our Gala held at the Pelican Club on Friday, November 14, 2025.

Stay tuned in the upcoming months for more information!

Money, Milestones, and TRUST.

Trust.

It’s a powerful word. When, and perhaps I should say, IF, we trust one another, conversations can shift from the daily niceties to matters of the heart. When trust is absent, there is almost no

reason to have a conversation. This is true in anything that matters:relationships within families, among friends, and yes, even our relationship with God Himself. God releases direction, protection, and even favor to those who trust Him.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Proverbs 3:5-6

In today’s WiW Wednesday e-newsletter, we want to share with you some of the important ways we endeavor to make this a ministry that you can TRUST as it relates to both Milestones and Money.

Milestones

enable us to report the quantitative results of our work. Each number represents a life, and the life of each woman, regardless of the nation in which she is located, is a valuable soul before God, with intrinsic worth in this world, and an astonishing impact on eternity. We report REAL NUMBERS counted by our team when we have the JOY and HONOR of serving with our ministry partners as we provide WiW trainings in heart, head, hands, health and human rights.

AND we only partner with like-minded ministry partners who have agreed to high ethical and biblical standards of integrity. Their training reports, replete with both qualitative and quantitative results are TRUSTWORTHY.

Each number, or milestone, is attached to a real person – a person whose life has been impacted and whose thumbprint on humanity has been transformed to impart the power of the Gospel of Jesus, in both tangible and intangible ways.

Money.

But what about money, you might wonder? How do we account for the dollars so generously given to Women in the Window International? Believe it or not, this is a deeply spiritual matter as well. Jesus addressed the matter openly and frequently, with approximately 15% of his sermons focused on this vital area of discipleship.

Surprised? Don’t be.Because where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. For Women in the Window International, each dollar given and each dollar invested in the work God has entrusted to us is a holy TRUST. For that reason, we diligently work to provide accurate accounting through our bookkeeper, board treasurer, Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and our accrediting agency: ECFA.

We are quite honored to be an accredited mission of the Evangelical Council of Financial AccountabilityHere is a link to their website and our Standards of Accountability, which include both quantitative and qualitative reporting. We are required to have an annual audit by our CPA, and each of our processes has been carefully crafted and strictly implemented to guard the integrity of WiW. We know that you and your TRUST are a gift, a treasure from God Himself, and we want to guard the TRUST. Here is the most recent certificate of approval sent by the ECFA, proudly displaying the word ‘INTEGRITY’ as a watchword:

Thank you for placing your TRUST in Women in the Window International, as you donate your time, your talents, and yes, your treasure.

May God richly reward you with an abundant return on your investment!

Yours Because I’m His,

We will not be shaken

Shots rang out. Young lives perished. Tears without limit ran down the faces of those in the crowd. Yet even there, resolve was stirred, and a movement arose to resist the forces of evil.

Our ministry partner in Nepal recently shared how, in the midst of political crisis and uncertainty, God is stirring His people with this same unshakable resolve:

“More than 19 Gen Z lost their lives on 8 Sept as a result of the protest against the social media ban and the corrupt government. More than 60 people associated with this protest have died. All the top political leaders are safeguarded at the army headquarters…”

YET – The testimony of God’s Protection is nothing short of miraculous –

“We have not heard any death or injury during the protest from the Christian community. All our staff are safe. Despite all these challenges, our training continues with 16 students. One of our teachers could not go to the training because of the curfew. Now, the teachers are able to travel, and everything is getting normal. Also, our modular training was affected one day because of the curfew. Our women’s seminar had to be postponed. Last week, Kathmandu office staff worked from home because of the curfew imposed. Our office in Kathmandu will resume from today.

Right now, a modular training, further west of Butwal, is continuing. ..”

THIS IS WHY Women in the Window International is a Prayer-Driven Ministry! This is WHY we pray!!

Just days before this tragedy, our Women in the Window International prayer team and friends gathered to pray for the nations where we serve (watch the recap here)– the nations where believing and living the Gospel equals risking your own life, security, and social acceptance. One of the nations where WiW serves is Nepal. And I want to share with you today, the reason why we PRAY.

We PRAY because we serve a God Who hears, a God Who answers, a God who counsels in the “night seasons,” and builds our lives on Solid Ground.

“I bless the LORD who gives me counsel, in the night also my heart instructs me; I have set the LORD always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.”

There is a cost for following Christ.

Often, especially in the hard places where Women in the Window serves, that cost is very high, even to the point of risking your life to follow Christ. This is the reason WHY Women in the Window trains and serves women leaders in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

Persecution is on the rise around the globe, even here in America. And for some nations, like Nepal, where it has existed for quite awhile, it’s getting even worse. Yet God speaks through suffering. And in the pangs of suffering, we learn to trust Christ in deeper ways. As a result, we have the blessed benefit of not only training women leaders with new and Life-giving skills rooted in the Gospel and in Scripture, but in learning from these women at the very same time. Here is just one story from the women we serve together in Nepal:

“I am very blessed by the training of the program. I had never worked in the hilly area, I do not even know to walk properly in the hilly ways, since I was born and grew up in the Tarai land. But God brought me here. Life and ministry were not so easy. I have cried while walking and working. Villagers did not accept us because of our faith. Many times, we are threatened for doing God’s work. We are accused of breaking families because of their members coming to Christ, through the gospel, and us visiting and praying for them.  God is working in our village. He is opening the hearts of people, and some have started coming to church. That’s why strict Hindu and Buddhist villagers do not like us.

I used to be so sad and cry in prayer. But now I have understood how valuable I am to God. God personally cares and concerns me. He can shine through my brokenness. All glory to GOD.”

What is God calling you to do in response to the Gospel?

Most importantly, have you opened your heart to receive His saving grace?

And, then, have you discovered how He wants you to serve Him and others?

As this story clearly illustrates, trusting, following and serving Christ comes with a cost, but the benefits outweigh the cost, not only in this world, but especially in the one to come, with pleasures forevermore.

Let us know how God is calling you to respond by replying to this email or by sending in a prayer request below.

“You make known to me the path of life; in Your Presence there is fullness of joy; at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.”

Psalm 16:11

What would you take?

If you had to leave your home quickly, what would you take?

Probably not your sewing machine!

If you are a C. S. Lewis fan, then you might just remember the delightful scene in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, when Mrs. Beaver expresses her disdain at leaving behind her sewing machine. She turns to her husband, Mr. Beaver, and inquires, “I suppose the sewing machine is too heavy to bring?” and Mr. Beaver promptly replies, “Yes, it is.” The Beavers are leaving their homes and running for their lives, knowing the evil White Witch of Narnia is rapidly approaching, and they must find their way to Aslan.

As C. S. Lewis’s story unfolds, Father Christmas appears with gifts that warm the hearts of one and all, not only because their gifts are absolutely perfect, such as a new and even better sewing machine for Mrs. Beaver, but because his presence represents the end of the harsh, cold winter brought on by the curse of the White Witch. Narnia had become a place where it is always winter and never Christmas.

But no longer, because Aslan is on the move. Aslan represents Christ, the Lion of Judah, who gives his life to satisfy the curse and pay the penalty of sin, which could never be satisfied by mere human effort.

The allegory of this Narnia tale is not lost on us here at Women in the Window. With your help, we serve rescued girls in Asia and refugee women from North Africa. The young girls are taken to safety and experience trauma healing straight from the stories of the Bible. The women are given both life skills and a source of economic provision, including brand-new sewing machines and business skills. Just like the woman pictured above, a Sudanese refugee who received a sewing machine from our recent Mother’s Day initiative!

Your generous support and loving service opened the way for us to serve women and girls whose lives are filled with cruel harshness that feels like a never-ending winter storm.

Girls are trafficked, and women are thrown away as worthless. But through your love, your prayers, and your generous giving, they receive the good gifts of God’s love in tangible and intangible ways as they, too, experience the eternal hope of Christ. We thank God for you!

Our new initiative goal is to establish 10 WiW ambassadors across the USA. Want to learn more about our ambassador program and possibly become one? Contact us here:

Healing Hearts through the Ancient Practice of Storytelling

Morocco – The Arab world is famous for their storytelling genius. From 1,001 stories of Arabian Nights to Sinbad the Sailor, stories call to the innermost parts of our hearts with pathos, with longing, and with joy. Yet, the most important story of all, the story of God’s Glory revealed through His Son, calls out from deep to deep (Psalm 42:7) and welcomes every person to understand the deep inner story of their own life.

“Did you know God is writing his story through your life? Your story is deeper, more profound than you know right now, and God desires that you discover it and share it with others.” Leslie Leyland Fields, Author of Your Story Matters

Women in the Window invited Leslie to our Middle East and North African training conference earlier this year and the result of this gathering of women leaders was magnificent. Each one of us, including our WiW volunteer leadership team, left with hearts filled with joy as we discovered the simple, yet profound way to write our stories, tell our stories, and then live our stories with greater confidence the love of Christ. Yes! Our stories matter and writing them has a profound impact on our souls as it also provides a beautiful way to love and serve others.

And, as always, our goal for any Women in the Window International training is that the women are equipped and empowered to pass along what they learn with rippling, multiplying impact. One of the women leaders who attended our training this Spring had the honor of traveling to Morocco, North Africa, to train 25 more women with the Your Story Matters method that she had just received. Once again, the results were magnificent, as women’s hearts were opened to receive and share God’s love.

Here are just a few of the comments she received from those she trained,

“I noticed something significant that I had never even thought about before.”

“I saw that God was present and enabled me to endure the pain; He never left my side as He supported me through and out of my troubles.”

“ My story became beautiful as I saw it this way, and I was able to see it even more clearly than I had before.”

“Now that I have learned this, I will apply this storytelling method to all the situations in my life to see what I can learn from them.”

Each woman recognized that God is with them in a beautiful way and that He has been present in their story from the very beginning. They are eager to share the news of His tender mercies! Thank you for your faithful prayers for this mission. You are the reason we can continue to love, tell, and live His Story!

How do you define good health

INDIA– The scorching summer heat only compounds the many duties assigned to women and girls of India! This summer, temperatures exceeded 40 to 50 degrees Celsius in several states (that is, 100 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit).

Women are frequently assigned the daily duty of drawing water from a nearby well and hauling it the long distance back to their homes. No wonder they are less inclined to drink water throughout the day. Sadly, this only adds to their increased rate of cardiovascular disease, the highest cause of death among females in India!

Here is a brief story we received following our WiW health training in Preeti’s village:

Preeti is a field worker. She oversees 7 Community Transformation Groups (CTGs), each has approximately 30 members. Each member influences her own family, and in some cases, multiple families throughout her village.

“When I went to the well this morning, I had a new spring in my step. The other women and girls who walked along with me, and stopped to pump our water from the well as we have done countless times before, noticed the difference. “Why are you smiling?” they asked. I couldn’t wait to share all that I learned at our recent WiW training in my village.

I learned both spiritual and physical things, like how to study the Bible and how to eat a balanced diet and drink enough water, I said. Until now, I drink only a little water each day, but that is going to change, because there is a purpose for my life.

And, I learned about women in the Bible who really matter to God, the One True God. I learned that women are an essential part of His Story. And I know that I am, too!”

Preeti has already started putting the spiritual and physical lessons of this training into practice and multiplying this training to those in her 7 CTGs in her village and surrounding villages. The following illustration provides clarity on the manifold impact of defining good health.

The Ripple of YOUR Faithful YES!

Thank you, friend, for making the mission of Women in the Window International come to life! YOU make things happen.

Every time Women in the Window International conducts a ministry training in partnership with women leaders in the 10/40 Window, we ask for a full report—because we want you to hear directly from our ministry partners and the women we serve together.

Here’s a brief ministry update from Bangladesh, shared by “Anika,” who visited us here in the U.S. last year:

“The Lord has blessed the training with 100% participation, opening the ladies’ hearts as they commit to working with us. Those who are weak receive zeal from the Holy Spirit and then promise to connect with us and with one another at completion. They praise the Lord for the opportunity and express interest in participating in church activities and additional women’s training. This inspires them and inspires us, too. They were truly blessed.

Many share their testimonies and recount their struggles in life, along with their hopes and failures, which makes the training even more significant. They identify with and see their identity in Christ.

Finally, we were grateful that a few direct victims of domestic violence were able to attend. Their earnest request is to keep them in our prayers.”

A Testimony from the Training

Hello, my name is Kiskun Memoti. I thank God for giving me the chance to attend this training. From this Essential & Trauma Healing Training, I learned the five steps of Bible study: Preparation, Observation, Interpretation, Application, and Reflection. I also learned how to heal from emotional wounds, how to listen to others, how to go through grief, how to lament, and how to forgive—things I never knew before.

The part that touched me most was learning about the grief journey. I now understand how to slowly come out of sadness in a healthy way. Here is a part of my story to help you understand why this training means so much to me…

I fell in love with a man and married him by running away from home, without my family’s permission. My family never accepted my marriage. Then, there was always trouble in our married life. We had money problems, and my husband did not work regularly. He would often drink alcohol and then beat me.

To support my family, I worked as a daily laborer. But my husband’s drinking only got worse. He even accused me of being in love with other men and started abusing me more and more. Still, I stayed with him for 15 years, because I loved him.

But one day, I could no longer take the abuse. I finally decided to separate from him and started living alone with my child. Now, I have no contact with him.

When I think about my past, I feel deep pain and sadness, and before this training I could not share it with anyone. I thank WIW and Talitha Koumi for arranging this beautiful training. I want to share what I have learned with my family and neighbors.

Please pray for me that I can use what I learned in my life and help many others.*

Thank you for equipping women like Kiskun to find healing, discover their identity in Christ, and lead others to hope.
